Traditional ascorbic acid oxidizes quickly and can become ineffective long before a product reaches the end of its shelf life. To avoid that, we built this cream around two more stable formats, tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate (THD) and ascorbyl glucoside. Both forms have high stability and lower irritation potential compared to standard vitamin C.
THD is oil-soluble, allowing it to reach deeper layers of the skin’s lipid barrier. Ascorbyl glucoside is water-soluble and releases vitamin C slowly as the skin converts it. Together, they offer brightening and antioxidant support without the common drawbacks of traditional formats.
This dual system also helps the cream stay stable longer, avoiding color shifts or breakdown. That’s something we test frequently at the lab, pH, temperature cycling, oxidation, because a formula should feel reliable from day one until the last use.
Choosing Nourishing Plant Oils With Intention
A brightening cream isn’t complete without a strong nourishing base. That’s why we included sweet almond, meadowfoam, avocado, and macadamia oils, each selected for specific benefits.
